Circular metals for stainless and specialty steel producers

Steel. Smarter.

With our technologies, we enable stainless and specialty steel producers to reduce their cost of raw materials, cut emissions, operate waste free, and secure supply of critical metals.

High value metals

Pricing below equivalent virgin metals enables producers to improve their economic fundamentals.

High quality metals

Delivering high quality metals that can directly drop in existing processes and substitute virgin metals.

Secures critical metal supply chain

Providing locally recovered, circular alloys with metals such as nickel, molybdenum, and chromium.

Supports industry decarbonisation

Upcycling domestic production waste to avoid significant tCO₂e emissions per ton of virgin metal substituted.

Trusted by Europe's leading steel producer

Steel CleanUp's first commercial plant is under development in Alkmaar, built to serve a Tier 1 stainless steel producer. Our recovered alloys are engineered to drop directly into existing production processes — no requalification, no compromise on output quality.

The process

How does it work?

  1. 01

    Solids feed

Waste streams are prepared to ensure maximum feedstock quality.

  2. 02

    Concentration

Valuable metals are concentrated in various fractions, significantly increasing the value compared to the blended input material.

  3. 03

    Reduction

The concentrated materials are converted to metallic form using low-carbon electricity and hydrogen as the reducing agent.
